چکیده

To lighten and stiffen the structural components used in automobile bodies, variable curvature local-induction-heating bending forming (VC-LIHBF) technology was developed. However, few studies have been conducted on optimization of geometric parameters inductor LIHBF process. This paper focuses improvement cross-sectional distortion limit thin-walled rectangular steel tubes (TWRSTs) without mandrel support. In this work, a coupled thermo-mechanical finite element analysis (FEA) method is developed to investigate deformation behavior during VC-LIHBF. The temperature distribution calculated by electromagnetic heat transfer analysis, stress obtained analysis. Experiments were carried out validate reliability proposed model (FEM). results indicate that quality TWRST significantly affected inductor, feed rate tube, push speed roller distance between roller. appropriate process for B1500HS determined. findings study may provide important guidance practical manufacturing via

Axial Crushing Analysis of Sandwich Thin-walled Tubes using Experimental and Finite Element Simulation

Application of impact energy absorption systems in different industries is of special significance. Thin-walled tubes, due to their lightness, high energy absorption capacity, long crushing length and the high ratio of energy absorption to weight, have found ever-increasing application as one of the most effective energy absorption systems. In this research, through  carrying out experimental t...

Analysis of the Rotary-draw Bending Process for Thin-walled Rectangular Aluminum Tube

The Rotary-Draw Bending (RDB) process is a distinguished process employed for the precision cold bending of a hollow tube with small radius bends using Numerical Control (NC) machines. This research presents an analytical model based on the power law hardening model for the RDB processing of rectangular thin tubes. Based on the constraints of the tube in the dies and its thinness, the plane str...

Thin-Walled Tubes

The axial crushing of thin-walled tubes has been the subject of extensive research in the past. The existing kinematic models for predicting crushing behavior of axially loaded thin-walled tubes are systematically reviewed and analyzed. The advantages and limitations of each model are discussed. A new chain link model for circular tubes and square tubes is presented and studied in detail. Unlik...

Experimental Investigations into the Collapse of Simple and Reinforced Thin-Walled Channel Beams under Bending Loads

In this paper, collapse behavior of simple and reinforced thin-walled channel- section beams, subjected to three- point bending, is investigated. Many simple channel- section beams of different geometry and some reinforced ones were tested, and their strengths after collapse were obtained thoroughly. Since the available theories in this area are complicated and little attention has been paid to...

Investigation of the effect of buckling initiator on energy absorption of thin-walled circular tubes by using of numerical simulation

Cylindrical thin-walled tubes due to construction and easy installation, high energy absorption capacity are used in the automotive industry as an impact energy absorber. However, the main weakness of cylindrical tubes is in the high initial peak load. Therefore, in this paper, to overcome this weakness, a buckling initiator is used at the top of the tube. This buckling initiator is a steel rod...
